Can’t Win for Losing

I tried to help my husband out by mowing the lawn. May times when I do this, something bad happens.

  • I’ve been locked out of the house by my toddler (with the baby asleep inside in the crib and the toddler outside with me).
  • The mower has had bits of dandelions added to the gasoline tank and it never was the same after that.
  • I’ve broken the handle off the pull-start cord.
  • I’ve messed up the trimmer so that even my husband wasn’t sure what I did to make it “not start” again. (He rebuilt something and it works again.)

I was about one-third of the way into the lawn when I shut off the mower to get some water in me. When I went back to start the mower, the cord for the pull-start came off the motor. Oops!

So, I guess I’ll wait for my husband to come home because if I took it apart to re-attach the cord, I’d likely break (or lose) something else.

Bummer.
