Ready to Go

Child #2 solemnly announced to me on Sunday that she was ready for school to start. Her face was all smiles when I told her she didn’t have long to wait.

The bathrooms are clean. The floor is clean. The kitchen is . . . well, the kitchen could always be cleaner. (We finished the last canning of the season Labor Day morning morning around 5:30 a.m.)

The new chore charts are ready to be hung. The new books are in the bookcase. The lesson plans are written (in pencil).

Still to do: Sharpen pencils. Hit the library tonight for this week’s library books. (I should have gone on Saturday, but forgot.) Find some of the larger balloons to blow up for tomorrow’s science activity.

We have a field trip with the local homeschool group on Friday. Should be an interesting week!
